Parks / Public Gardens

Sherbrooke Geriatric University Institute, Argyll Pavilion

As the former Sherbrooke Hospital had been converted into a Geriatric Institute, the Landscape design is presenting a universal access canopy of mature indigenus trees.

A section of the parking ha been dismantled to allow a direct relationship between the building and the garden. A pathway network has been designed in order to use extensively the wooded site and to preserve all of the existing trees. This network is ponctuated by three attractive constructed elements: the gazebo, the marquee and the fountain.

Following the addition to the main building, the existing garden has been modified in order to include an exterior meeting space. The revised pathway network was able to integrate harmoniously the existing sculptural fountain. The pathways were also designed in a way to respect a maximum slope of 3%.

The pathways were designed upon a geometric framework in order to blend with the shape of the architecture and also to fit within the site which is relatively small and dense.

Technopark, City of Sherbrooke

Integrated to the existing Industrial Park, this project consisted of designing the streets network, the typology of the site and the general aspect of the public spaces and parks. All the elements of the project are leading towards a created lake within a wet depression of the site which is difficult to build upon. This designed lake and parks becomes the focus of the technopark. In this park, a winding path is proposed to use extensively this site punctuated by a restaurant/belvedere and an observatory at the highest point of the park, facing both the lake and the whole project.
